Perform daily inspections and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment and welding machines including cables and welding torch as per schedule. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications. Operate manual welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes primarily TIG with experience in OAW, GTAW, GMAW (MIG). Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers. Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications. Perform self-inspection of parts and work to print. Complete and maintain paperwork. Check machines for defects and repair if necessary; ensure machines are calibrated and cleaned. Lift work pieces manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, and position/secure against guides and stops. Qualifications

2-3 years of experience in metal fabrication or related work; comparable experience in other fields. High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program. Ability to set up and run machinery without supervision. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Forklift or crane license considered an asset. Trade certification is required.
