Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift, Lawrence, KS
The Maintenance Mechanic position reports through the Maintenance Department within the Lawrence Production Center. Individuals in this department provide the necessary skills to install and maintain the production equipment in support of manufacturing. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Sunday night through Friday morning, 11:30pm - 8:00am. Location: Lawrence, Kansas. Relocation is not provided. Responsibilities
Perform routine electrical connections, repairs, and troubleshooting on AC control systems for 120/240/480 voltages. Repair power transmission systems and safely operate shop machines in the fabrication of machinery parts and components. Interpret basic machine schematics and building blueprint drawings. Troubleshoot and repair machinery controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and AC frequency drive systems; read and interpret electrical schematics. Perform basic utility connections and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Safely operate electrical and gas welding equipment; understand welding principles. Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical and solid-state circuitry systems. Understand and perform basic Facility Support services on HVAC, vacuum, and air systems. Utilize good safety practices. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Successfully completed technical training covering basic electrical fundamentals (high and low voltage), circuits, and schematic reading OR HVAC training OR a minimum of 2 years of mechanical/electrical equipment repair experience in industrial manufacturing or commercial settings. Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, and reach at/above shoulder level; frequent awkward positions; occasional ladder work. Ability to pass a color perception test. Preferred Qualifications
Basic math, written and oral communication skills, and basic computer skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet production targets; understand and follow safety procedures for PPE, lockout/tagout, and handling hazardous chemicals. Ability to learn, work as part of a team, and take on additional duties as assigned. Work Environment & Additional Details
Overtime as required during peak seasons. Maintenance environment with PPE requirements and procedures for hazardous chemicals and energies; may work in harsh environments without climate controls. Must wear PPE for Arc Flash protection and other PPE such as safety glasses and safety shoes. Operate hand tools and industrial shop machinery; some noise and hearing protection required. Color perception testing may be required at interview; background checks and pre-employment screenings may be conducted. This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas. Benefits
