Job Summary
Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by continually assessing processes and recommending improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead teams to analyze complaints and implementation of customer, supplier, and internal corrective and preventive actions using A3, 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone. Analyze projects to reduce KPIQ costs and customer/internal/supplier PPM. Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing process/product capabilities and trends and lead corrective actions to implement solutions on non-capable and out of control processes. Coordinate as assigned and initiate engineering changes to impact improved product performance and reduced cost of quality. Conduct as assigned MSA studies and annual layouts and plan, conduct, integrate, and validate the analysis of inspection, design, test, and measurement requirements to assure the quality of the assigned products or components. Coordinate periodic reviews to create and update control plans, SPC control limits, and documentation to align with FMEAs and assist with FMEA revisions. Participate/support APQP activities and submit PPAPs to customers as assigned and perform validation tests to meet customer specifications. Lead, conduct, and support internal and external audits of system, product, and processes. Devise inspection, measuring, and test procedures, sampling plans to evaluate and report quality and reliability data. Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended process improvements to management. Implement, maintain, and improve quality management system to meet government, industry, and customer quality standards/requirements including ISO 9001/IATF 16949; VDA; AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA; CQI requirements. Conduct training on quality concepts and tools and procedures.
Your Profile
Required Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in manufacturing in automotive sector. • Must understand SPC and be able to compile and process data. • Experience with ISO9001/IATF 16949 based quality management system. • Experience with all required customer and quality system requirements and tools (ISO 9001/IATF 16949; VDA; AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA; CQI requirements). Preferred Education and Experience: • ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor. • Experience working for a global company (Preferably German based). • Green belt certification. • Experience in automotive manufacturing and/or engineering and sales driven business. • Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization. • Bilingual German/Spanish a plus.
