What You Will Do
Design & finalize: create and finalize detailed CAD models for new furniture frames, ensuring they are ready for production by completing bills of materials (BOMs) and routings.
Innovate & prototype: design frames for R&D prototypes, best-practice testing, and cost-reduction projects, as well as new components like showood, legs, and other materials.
Collaborate & validate: partner with cross-functional teams to ensure your frame designs meet all aesthetic, functional, and manufacturing requirements.
Manage & document: keep your workflow tasks updated, assist with engineering change orders (ECOs), and maintain precise documentation within our Ashley Information System (AIS).
Participate & engage: actively attend frame reviews, cover fits, and production pilot runs to see your work in action and provide expert input.
What You Need To Succeed
Proven experience as a CAD Specialist, Designer, or Drafter, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome design and manufacturing challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of creatives and technical experts.
Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
A solid understanding of continuous improvement principles.
