Maintenance Mechanic – JLL What this job involves: The Maintenance Mechanic provides essential support for assigned buildings through comprehensive maintenance services including preventive maintenance, emergency response, and general building repairs. This role is responsible for the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building operational components, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The position directly contributes to JLL’s business objectives by ensuring optimal building performance, tenant satisfaction, and operational efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards and delivering best-in-class customer service.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Perform ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems using CMMS work order system.

Complete general maintenance tasks including ceiling tile replacement, carpet and floor tile installation, minor plumbing repairs, and HVAC filter and belt changes.

Conduct assigned facility rounds and proactively report conditions impacting client occupancy and operations while entering work orders for resolution.

Provide excellent customer service to tenants and agencies with minimal disruption and professional communication.

Execute special projects including painting, pressure washing, tenant service requests, and general cleaning assignments.

Escort vendors onsite for routine preventative maintenance and repairs while maintaining safety protocols.

Support after‑hours building activities and participate in on‑call rotation for emergency response within 45 minutes.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

1-3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic HVAC, basic plumbing, and/or basic electrical.

Ability to lift, carry, and push equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), CMMS, and internet‑based software.

Ability to work in various physical conditions including outdoors, mechanical rooms, and extreme weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with carpentry and building restoration techniques.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and hazard identification.

Familiarity with building automation systems and equipment diagnostics.

Experience in tenant service delivery and vendor coordination.

Additional licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.

Experience in Museum environments and/or historic facilities.

Location: Onsite Memphis, TN

Work Shift: Tues-Sat 7:00-4:00 – Schedule includes on‑call rotation for emergency response

Salary/Compensation: $26.00 – $29.00 hr
