Job Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Production Operations in Grand Prairie, Texas, is seeking a Tool Designer to join their team. The successful candidate will collaborate with tooling operations, production, and program engineers to design and develop custom tools and equipment used in manufacturing missiles and missile systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation:
Design, develop, and implement industrial machinery and equipment for manufacturing offensive and defensive weapons systems. Tooling Design:
Design tooling such as dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype models, and machine attachments for production or experimental use. Design Considerations:
Incorporate safety, accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements into tool designs. 3D Modeling:
Use 3D CAD software (Creo) to create detailed models and technical drawings. Tooling Review and Rework:
Review defective tooling and develop rework solutions. Process Improvement:
Contribute to manufacturing methods and process enhancements. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, Catia, etc.). Interest in a tool design career path. Desired Skills: Experience with Pro/E. Knowledge of tool concept and design. Experience with tooling and fabrication. Familiarity with GD&T. Security Clearance: This position requires a U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Work Schedule: 4×10-hour days, with 3 days off per week.
