We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation of complex technical solutions. This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control.

Responsibilities

Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture

Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations

Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements

Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities

Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities

Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position.

Basic Qualifications

Must have a Master's degree or above in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar

This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Willing to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment

Must have demonstrated at least a foundational level of proficiency in C++

Must have demonstrated at least an intermediate level of proficiency in Matlab or Python

Must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:

Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms

Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations

Desired Skills

Experience operating in Linux environments

Experience with Agile development

Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses

Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git

Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills
