*This is a 2nd shift role working onsite at our facility in Hatfield, PA. The hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30pm - 11pm.
A Day in the Life of a Mechanical Testing Technician The technician will work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and quality are most important. The technician will use measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers, following detailed work instructions. The technician also performs tensile, elevated tensile, stress rupture, hardness, charpy, and other testing on material samples provided by customers in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all types of mechanical testing as assigned by the Mechanical Testing Supervisor. This includes setting up all machines used for testing.
Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance to test requirements.
Ensures that the test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any tests. Informs the supervisor whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair.
Analyzes and documents test results; consults with supervisor as necessary.
Monitors ever changing scheduled completion dates and times to insure that established schedules are met. The supervisor must be notified sufficiently in advance whenever the schedule for a job might not be met.
Inputs required data into LabMan accurately and on a timely basis.
Assists with maintaining test equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and repair maintenance as required.
Understands and complies with LTI’s QA Program at all times.
Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment.
Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
No prior experience required. Six months to one-year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
Prior experience strongly desired.
Computer skills required: (LabMan System, Enterprise Resource Planning System and Microsoft Office Suite).
Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies.
This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In accordance with ITAR, to be qualified to work in this facility, applicants must be a US Person, which is defined as a US , US Permanent , and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
