Location: Deerfield Beach, FL. Title : Building Plans Examiner and/or Inspector of All Trades Description : CAP Government, Inc. is seeking the immediate hire of licensed Building Plans Examiner and Inspector for inspection and plan review services of construction projects. The work involves interpretation and application of regulations as applied to customer relations, review of building construction blueprints, product approvals, shop drawings and other project documents. Some travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area. Candidates must possess a professional demeanor, have both technical and industry experience, and be a team player. Duties, Responsibilities, And Qualifications

Conduct examination of building permit applications, including blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals and shop drawings and all other required documents for compliance with the Florida Building Code and other regulations relating to building construction. Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction. Recognize, evaluate and properly resolve unique problems or situations. Meet with design professionals, contractors and other interested parties to discuss technical code issues arising during the plan review process. Prepare and maintain all required records and reports. Inspect buildings and other facilities for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations as required by the supervisor. Respond to inquiries from homeowners/property owners, contractors, architects, engineers, etc., regarding codes and review procedures. Perform general administrative/office work as required, including meetings, reports, correspondence, copying and filing, and answering the telephone. Receive, review, prepare and/or submit various records and reports including building plans, shop drawings, engineering reports, permit applications, job pricing records, code compliance complaints and related correspondence. Interact and communicate with the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other department personnel, property/home owners, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, County personnel and the general public. Review permits for residential and commercial to ensure conformance to applicable codes; enforce and explain pertinent sections of codes. Issue verbal and written notices of code violations and citations as needed. Assist in resolving complex and sensitive customer service issues, personally or in writing; maintain records of customer service issues and resolutions. Research problems and complaints regarding commercial and residential work and code compliance. Maintain high ethical, honesty and moral standards. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager. Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Licensed General Contractor for a minimum of five (5) years; and State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building; or State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building, or ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building; and Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related construction regulations. Ability to understand and interpret codes and evaluate project proposals and projects under construction to verify conformance with code requirements. Compensation and Benefits
