As a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll support children with a variety of needs — including medically complex, developmental, and communication challenges — helping them improve speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills to enhance their independence and quality of life.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans to improve communication, swallowing, cognitive-communication, and social skills in pediatric patients
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and maintain detailed, skilled documentation including evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries
Educate and collaborate with parents and caregivers to support communication development and carryover of therapy strategies at home and in natural settings
Monitor therapy progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes
Assess the child’s natural environments—such as home, school, or daycare—and recommend strategies or modifications to enhance communication and participation
Recommend and train families on the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices or other assistive technology as appropriate
Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and address the child’s holistic needs
Manage a pediatric caseload, maintain open communication with families, and coordinate scheduling of therapy sessions
Complete accurate billing and documentation aligned with services provided
What You’ll Bring
Credentials from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program are required
North Dakota Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility) required
Pediatric experience preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply
A passion for working with children and their families is a must
