Aug 27, 2025 - Recare Deutschland GmbH is hiring a remote Tech Lead. Location: Germany, France, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Spain, Austria. As one of Germany's leading HealthTech companies, we are transforming discharge management by making it technology-driven, patient-centered, and free of bureaucracy. We operate a market-leading SaaS platform and are developing AI solutions to simplify processes in clinics and for aftercare providers, reduce the burden on healthcare professionals, and focus on patients. We currently connect over two-thirds of all German hospitals with more than 650 rehabilitation clinics, and over 25,000 care and homecare providers. With around 70 employees, we are growing and seeking people who want to help improve the healthcare system. What you'll work on

Aftercare provider operations are becoming increasingly complex and data-driven. Bringing change is hard, but we’re not afraid. You will build features that help care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and healthcare chains better allocate resources, unlock actionable insights from patient data, and integrate Recare seamlessly into their internal systems. Our ambitious roadmap focuses on expanding our marketplace's receiver side with enhanced analytics tools, B2C platforms connecting providers directly with patients, expanded API integrations, and more. Secure communication is at our core — our solution provides end-to-end encryption for healthcare professionals to safely exchange messages and patient data through our applications and external API integrations. We have several products in development that will significantly impact the German healthcare system and we’re excited by new AI opportunities for building powerful features for our customers. Your responsibilities as Tech Lead

Technical Leadership:

Drive architecture decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and support existing and new engineers through regular feedback and guidance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with product and design to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Project Delivery:

Own the technical roadmap for your team and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Technologies you’ll work with

Golang:

Backend codebase; fast, strongly typed and well-supported tooling.

Postgres:

Databases with GORM interface.

Typescript:

Frontend codebase; strongly typed with ESLint and Prettier guidelines.

React:

Client-side rendered SPAs using hooks.

Apollo

GraphQL proxy for client-side data fetching; backend REST API.

Material-UI

and styled-components; designers use Figma.

CI/devops:

CircleCI and GithubActions for tests, visual regression, and automated code analysis; deployment across environments.

Non-business tasks

— time may be allocated to activities such as frontend/backend optimization, database performance improvements, automation of internationalization, tooling development (e.g., visual regression tooling), and migrating tools (e.g., Storybook to Vite). Our philosophy is that developers are owners of the code they write until it goes to production. We rely on automated tests and deployable code at any time; manual QA is only involved for new feature validation. What you will need to succeed as a Tech Lead

You have a CS degree or equivalent knowledge and have been coding full-time professionally for 6+ years.

Experience with React and/or Golang (or another C-family language) in production; ability to discuss performance pitfalls and workarounds.

1-2+ years of proven experience managing a team of developers; as a tech lead, you will support and actively interact with team members and foster a positive growth environment.

Value empathy and contribute to a happy, engaged, and respectful work environment.

Comfort with advanced topics (build pipelines, bundle analysis, caching, rendering approaches, database optimization, etc.).

Experience with CI and testing frameworks; automation is valued in our small team.

A desire to become a technical owner of a part of our codebase and take on responsibilities.

Proactive and proficient in the entire product development flow: asking questions, clarifying specs, raising doubts, and engaging in meetings.

Product and Engineering operate in a fully remote setup where written communication is important; clear questions and requirements/docs are valuable.
