Overview " Location: Azusa, California. Employment type: Full Time. Programs CNC jobs both at the machines and in software. Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and Conventional machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Oversees other machinists on CNC and conventional machinery. Organizes the machine shop, tooling and materials. Conducts and ensures periodic maintenance on the machines."
Responsibilities
Programs in G and M code at the machine. Sets up, adjusts, or operates basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations. Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Measures, examines, or tests completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers. Monitors the feeding and speed of machines during the machining process. Maintains machine tools in proper operational condition. Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Operates equipment to verify operational efficiency. Checks work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled. Programs computers or electronic instruments, such as numerically controlled machine tools. Diagnoses machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs. Confers with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Lays out, measures, and marks metal stock to display placement of cuts. Fits and assembles parts to make or repair machine tools. Set up or operates metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting equipment. Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Evaluates machining procedures and recommends changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability. Dismantles machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed. Education: Completion of apprenticeship program and/or college/technical school training program preferred Experience: At least 4 years\' experience as machinist Skills: Complex problem solving; Critical thinking; Judgment and decision making; Mathematics; Coordination; Time management Skills and Certifications: CNC; HAAS
