Solid Waste Education & Outreach Technician

Responsibilities
Develop and distribute educational materials about solid waste services and programs.
Assist in implementing communication plans and strategies for the department.
Create and document successful brand and visual identity, risk communications, and culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate communications.
Coordinate community engagement efforts and events to promote Environmental Resources programs; present information to the public.
Assist in implementing Environmental Resources media advertising and marketing campaigns, collaborating with staff and media to develop and schedule radio and TV ads.
Assist in implementing marketing plans and analyze data on marketing efforts to make advertising budget recommendations.
Assist individuals, businesses, and government agencies regarding solid waste programs.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communication, education, or a related field.
OR Associates degree from an accredited college in communications, marketing, education, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
OR A combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Individuals who need to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Office environment; sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 50 pounds; repetitive hand movements; typing/data entry; talking/hearing; operating vehicle. The job may also require light to medium effort, depending on the task.
