Superintendent
with the leadership, technical skill, and drive to lead complex water and wastewater treatment plant projects from the field.
As a Superintendent, you’ll take ownership of all field operations — leading multiple crews and foremen, managing subcontractors and vendors, and driving production, safety, and quality. You’ll partner closely with the Project Manager to ensure each project finishes safely, profitably, and on schedule.
What You’ll Do Field Leadership & Execution
Lead and manage daily field operations for water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
Supervise multiple foremen, crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe jobsite environment.
Ensure all work meets contract documents, plans, and specifications.
Safety & Quality
Own jobsite safety — enforce OSHA and Petticoat‑Schmitt safety standards.
Conduct daily job briefings, correct hazards/near misses, and promote safety‑first culture.
Maintain high quality control standards, ensuring all installations meet project requirements.
Scheduling & Resource Management
Build and maintain project schedules with accurate 2–4 week look‑aheads.
Proactively coordinate manpower, materials, inspections, and equipment to maintain workflow.
Collaborate with project management and survey staff to plan and execute layout efficiently.
Team Development & Communication
Mentor, train, and motivate crew members and foremen.
Promote clear communication between field and office teams.
Complete accurate daily reports, timecards, and resource logs.
Partner with the Project Manager to identify risks, opportunities, and needed adjustments.
What We’re Looking For
7–10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with direct water/wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project background.
Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors on complex, self‑perform projects.
Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods, including:
Yard and process piping
Equipment setting and alignment
Structural concrete
Start‑up and punch‑out activities
Proficient in reading plans, specs, and P&IDs; understanding I&C and electrical one‑lines.
Skilled in short‑term scheduling, resource planning, and cost awareness.
Proficient with rotary lasers, builder’s level, and total station layout support.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with digital reporting tools (tablet/smartphone).
Certifications & Training (Preferred)
Competent Person, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Crane/Rigging Safety, and OSHA 30.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
