In-House Mechanic & Road Tech for Construction Equipment - Road-equipment mechanic. Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains construction equipment (e.g., skid loaders, lifts, paving machines, trench-digging machines, conveyors, excavators, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools). Operates and inspects machines to diagnose defects. Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools. Examines parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges. Replaces defective engines and subassemblies (e.g., transmissions). Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members. May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly/disassembly of equipment. May repair, adjust, and maintain various other equipment. Will visit customer job sites to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair construction equipment. The In-House Shop Mechanic will perform the same duties as above at our Washington DC Store branch. Qualifications
Minimum five years of mechanical experience on various construction equipment. Dependable, value-driven, career-minded; ability to get along with other employees. Daytime hours. Will pay the right person more. Community & EEO

We are looking for a self-starter, highly motivated person who can work independently while maintaining the team environment in a competitive market. The successful applicant must have a desire to succeed, strong relationship building techniques and closing skills. Must be able to sell value, yourself and have consulting skills to overcome price objections. Be highly trainable and have a minimum of 10 years of experience. Computer skills are essential. Knowledge of construction equipment, durable goods, heavy machinery, building products or any other mechanical products is helpful but not required. Hours of Operations: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 PM.
