Field Service Technician, Ignite - OSU-IT
Join Kodiak Gas Services as a Field Service Technician for our Ignite program, based at OSU-IT. The role involves supporting compression operations across the country, working on field sites and rotating through various support areas such as supply chain, set‑crew, overhaul, and more.
Program Description
4‑month rotational development program focused on field operations.
Hands‑on exposure to various field locations and cross‑functional teams.
Enhanced training and development to launch your career in the oil & gas sector.
Rotate through functional areas within field operations throughout the country.
Participate in Kodiak Safety Programs and uphold the KGS Safety Culture.
Engage in developmental trainings and operate mechanical equipment under mentor supervision.
Position Summary Intern‑level position that assists in the running of one or more compression jobs. Requires entry‑level diagnostic and repair skills; currently enrolled or recently graduated from a technical school program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform job activities consistent with Kodiak procedures, goals, and objectives.
Assist with troubleshooting basic issues and build troubleshooting skill set.
Attend and participate in all HSE meetings and ensure adherence to HSE protocols.
Complete required reports and actions as per operating procedures.
Additional tasks as assigned.
Travel up to 100% of the time.
Education, Experience & Training
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Currently enrolled in a technical school (natural gas compression program preferred) or recently graduated from a technical school.
Basic knowledge of gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.).
Strong mechanical aptitude, self‑motivation, initiative, and customer focus.
Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Certifications
Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR as per company policy.
Physical Demands
Operate heavy equipment and lift at least 10 pounds (infrequent lifting > 50 lbs.).
Stand up to 75% of the time; sit up to 25% of the time.
Climb ladders or stairs, work in tight and confined spaces, and maintain balance without assistance.
Work in high‑noise environments (>85 dB) with ear protection.
Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and extreme weather conditions.
Frequent computer use, typing, and other office equipment handling.
Travel up to 100% of the time.
