At MacAllister Machinery, we provide top-quality service and repair for equipment. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Shop Technician to join our team. You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and make a significant impact on our customers' success. Responsibilities
Adheres to safety rules and maintains good housekeeping (5S) in the shop area. Diagnoses and repairs equipment in the service shop. Completes required reporting for service time, including writing service reports, properly allocating time to each job, and tracking parts charged and parts returned. Maintains customer satisfaction by understanding customer needs and deadlines, completing scheduled repairs and service safely, timely, and accurately. Maintains company issued equipment and tools in good working order. Qualifications
High school education or equivalent; technical background via vocational school with diesel equipment repair is preferred. 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, preferably Caterpillar; strong knowledge of hydraulics, power train and electrical systems. Understanding of metrics and improvement mindset; ability to use basic MS Word, Excel, and database systems; willingness to learn and apply 6 Sigma concepts. Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to interpret policies and guidelines; basic warranty administration understanding. Customer-focused with a sense of urgency; professional demeanor with internal and external customers. Product knowledge, market awareness, and Caterpillar influence respect.
