Position Overview The Process Engineer works individually and collaboratively as part of the team to efficiently meet production requirements, in accordance with prescribed EHS and quality standards. Leads process changes and drives continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

Improve Productivity — Optimization of processes using time studies or data analysis; Creation and implementation of standard work; Work with area supervisor to drive productivity improvement and departmental KPI.

Improve Quality and Reduce Process Variation — Lead corrective action teams to resolve product and process variation; Lead first pass reliability improvement teams; Complete process review reports; Use root cause analysis to resolve product quality issues.

Improve Flow of Product, Supplies and Information — Lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to improve process and material flow; Implementation of methods to reduce waste; Participate on cross‑functional interdepartmental improvement teams; Improve operational data collection processes.

Develop a Highly Effective, Cross‑Trained Team — Assist in the hiring of high potential, motivated personnel; Provide effective training.

Additional Responsibilities — Source and procure needed equipment, tools, and supplies; Ensure stringent compliance to Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations; Champion compliance of the ISO system across the department; Provide technical problem solving for day‑to‑day problems; Improve reliability of machines and processes; Responsible for all departmental manufacturing and other operations aspects of scaling up new products; Make capital project requests; Responsible for conducting FE’s and ME’s on the manufacturing floor; Responsible for leading focused improvement teams; Mentor interns and junior engineers.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Providing direction to production crews during experimental trials.

Leadership of formal process improvement teams.

Mentoring junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (completed no later than June 30, 2023).

Minimum one recent year of work experience.

Local candidates only – must reside max. 30 miles from 92870.

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Mini‑Tab required.

Capable of understanding and interpreting test results.

Ability to generate practical solutions to complex problems.

Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written, presentation, inter‑personal).

Valid driver license, auto insurance and travel documents.

Nice to Have

Six Sigma green belt or above certification.

Experience with formalized problem solving, process improvement tools and methods, and statistical analysis (Lean and Six Sigma).

Pay Transparency The current pay range for this position is between $80,000 – $90,000/yr. Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job‑related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience. If hired, employment will be at will. The Company reserves the right to modify pay, as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program, at any time.
