What you do in this role:
Oversee the hospital operations during times when administration is not present
Monitor performance, maintain schedules, and provide education and coaching as needed
Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in conducting department meetings
Demonstrate thorough nursing knowledge, including assessments, treatment planning, discharge and admission procedures, medication distribution, and medical care
Deliver quality nursing care to ensure the goals of the treatment plan are achieved
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old and a graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current, unrestricted license to practice nursing in the state
CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and before patient contact
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred; experience in patient assessments, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations is a plus
