Position Description Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Atlanta, GA.

Ability to earn additional monthly performance incentive
Schedule: Flexible 40‑hour work week (weekend premiums apply)

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repair
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
Other state driver's license, as required
Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
Able to take home assigned mobile service truck and secure vehicle and contents
Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
Understanding of company policies, ability to complete repair orders, create and maintain professional relationships, work independently or as part of a team, prioritize workload, and demonstrate customer service and communication skills
Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment and meet preventive maintenance benchmarks (PM230, PM298, BA220, BA298, BH220, BH298, TW220, AC220, AC298, DR208, etc.) within specified deadlines
Complete 2 of the OEM online diagnostic tool software courses as required by location fleet mix
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
Interact with customer and exhibit account management skills to independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates with customer.
Coordinate work schedule as required by customers; road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work performed.
Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs including: A/C & heater system checks, brake system inspections, hydraulic brake inspection and repair, cargo handling and liftgate maintenance, charging system checks, clutch lubrication, cooling system maintenance, cranking system inspection, lighting system repair, drive axle maintenance, driveline lubrication, engine oil checks, fuel system maintenance, and general preventive maintenance.
Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation; perform work in accordance with all safety and compliance guidelines; use internal and external maintenance documents.
Maintain proper maintenance of all service, safety and environmental records required to meet corporate and government mandates.
Accountable for key maintenance measurements established by company policy related to inspection and performance of PMs, brakes, tires, wheels, and safety.
Act as a mentor for SM II level.
Perform other duties as assigned.
