CAD Designer Location: Chandler, AZ 85286 (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $40.40/hr on W2 (DOE)

Duration: 12 months or longer

Schedule: 9x80 A

Shift: 1st Shift

Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time

Responsibilities

Check drawing/design packages for proper content and ensure compliance with applicable industry and military standards.

Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication, including tolerance analysis and hardware selection.

Resolve GD&T interpretation issues on drawings.

Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter.

Liaise with various engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality.

Conduct vendor liaison as required.

Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards.

Supervise and direct the activities of staff as requested.

Perform related duties as assigned or required.

Apply Word, Excel, Windows, NX, and Teamcenter skills as needed.

Communicate well, both written and verbal.

Work quickly and accurately while under schedule pressure, exhibiting patience.

Manage time and organization effectively.

Basic Qualifications

US Citizenship required.

Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

2‑year Technical Degree in Drafting or Engineering and 6 years directly related experience.

Experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5‑2009; GDTP Professional Certification preferred.

Experience with Digital Product Definition Practices per ASME Y14.41.

Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations.

Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Comfortable working extended periods of time at a workstation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1; AWS CWI certification preferred.

Experience working with DoD programs preferred.

Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and MIL‑Standard 100 also desired.
