Civil Engineer (PE Preferred) – Land Development
Location:
Hopedale, MA (on-site with limited flexibility)
Compensation:
PE: $120–150K+ DOE | EIT: ~$100K + Bonuses
Our client is an established and growing civil engineering firm (10–25 employees) that provides civil/site design services for residential and commercial projects throughout Massachusetts. Due to increased project volume, they are hiring a Civil Engineer to support land development projects from design through permitting and completion. This role offers a clear path for growth, with long-term leadership opportunities as the firm continues to expand.
Responsibilities
Civil/site design for residential and commercial land development projects
Site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, and septic system design
Prepare site plans, subdivision plans, existing conditions plans, and permitting packages
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and local/state regulatory agencies
Support construction administration as needed
PE-level candidates may represent the firm at public hearings and planning/zoning meetings
Qualifications
PE-Level (Preferred):
4–12+ years of civil/site design experience, PE license in MA (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months), experience managing project tasks with limited oversight, knowledge of Massachusetts land use, permitting, and stormwater regulations
EIT-Level (Will Consider):
2–6+ years of civil/site engineering experience, EIT certification required, interest in professional development and PE license
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
PE: $120,000–$150,000+ DOE, EIT: ~$100,000 DOE
