Electrical Preconstruction Manager
Join Hunt Electric, Inc. as a full‑time Preconstruction Manager to lead the execution of high‑quality electrical projects. In this role you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and owners to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while expanding Hunt Electric’s market opportunities.
Responsibilities
Prepare project bids, gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents; identify labor, material, and time requirements and perform cost take‑off and analysis.
Provide support to preconstruction and engineering teams by updating estimating data, issuing estimated numbers for design‑build projects, ordering plans and specifications, and handling bid bonds and pre‑qualification forms.
Attend scheduled meetings with project architects, customers, or owners to resolve issues and maintain coordination, ensuring bidding documents are accurate.
Monitor design scope for changes that affect budget or schedule, advise the customer, and keep them fully informed of progress and any significant technical impacts.
Support the prequalification process by researching, retrieving, and validating project data and documents.
Assist with the coordination and management of customer data in the company CRM system; track and update customer contact details and run reports on interactions.
Manage other estimators and collaborate with project managers on bids, proposals, and client interactions.
Travel periodically between Hunt Electric offices or branches in Utah, Colorado, and Idaho.
Qualifications
Knowledge of value engineering concepts and current electrical, building, and safety codes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and Accubid (or equivalent estimation software).
Exceptional organizational, project, and program management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities; can translate technical information into clear documents.
Attention to detail, ability to balance workload, prioritize tasks, and work under tight deadlines.
Self‑reliant, multi‑tasking ability, and positive, dependable attitude.
Effective customer‑relationship skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management.
Junior college or equivalent experience in construction, business development, or a related field.
Proven track record of success in electrical/construction estimation.
