HDR is hiring a Senior Construction Inspector to work as a member of our Florida Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) program. This is a great opportunity to work on fast‑paced, short‑duration projects within Florida. The inspector will primarily work independently on FDOT projects consisting of milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. They will interact on a daily basis with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel.
This position will be located in the Miami, Florida area.
Preferred Qualifications
Position will include some night, holiday, and weekend work, and qualified candidates must be willing to work as‑needed on these occasions.
Technical School or Associate's Degree.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection.
Local candidate.
Industry certifications that are strongly preferred include:
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I
CTQP Final Estimates Level I
FOOT Intermediate MOT
Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self‑Study Course
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years experience.
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position typically requires successfully passing drug‑screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
