Diesel Mechanic A - 2nd Shift, Fort Pierce, FL at Waste Pro USA. Earn up to $42 per hour based on experience and qualifications. The role involves diagnosing and repairing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication. Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Review and complete repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders. Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and discuss preventive techniques to minimize future repairs. Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Conduct repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals. Maintain a high standard of ethics and dependability. Qualifications
Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnosis and repair Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnosis and repair Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis and repair Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and repair from service manuals Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and estimate time and materials required for repairs Ability to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months) Seniority level
