Overview
The precast fabricator is responsible for moving material, helping set up forms, cutting foam, concrete pouring and casting, installing rebar/mesh/PVC, cutting lumber/fiberglass, operates forklift and equipment and other tasks essential to concrete dock manufacturing in the plant.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Prepares form to be used for the concrete pouring process. Assembles, tightens, straightens, and squares concrete form assembly.
Measures foam billet with measuring tape. Cuts foam to required specifications using a hot wire apparatus. Transports and stacks foam billets according to size/type.
Pours concrete into form to specified thickness. Installs polystyrene foam, wire mesh, rebar, PVC, and other required items into assembled form. Vibrates to settle concrete and remove trapped air. Prepares casting to be finished by trained concrete finisher.
Patches and fills holes on sides of concrete modules using hand tools such as trowels and scrapers. Cuts control joints and applies joint sealant.
Operates machines to cut lumber, polymer, fiberglass, UHMW, and other dock-related materials. Includes boring holes, cutting slots and grooves, and sanding.
Assembles concrete float modules by installing timber beams, bolts, hardware, cleats, fender, and steel frames. Prepares material for shipment and assists with the loading and shipping of material.
Operates forklift to lift, move, and position concrete forms, floats, and related material.
Performs work per shop drawings and in accordance with company quality policies.
Operates various hand and power tools.
Learns and applies safety rules and techniques.
Assists with other processes and performs other duties as assigned or required
