Fire Power Boiler Services is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team. This role involves wiring, firing, and testing boilers in the field, as well as performing start-ups and maintenance on customer equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical background with experience in boiler controls. The position is based in Houston, TX and offers a full‑time salary of $32.00 - $45.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Wire all controls and motors for water tube and firetube boilers, as well as auxiliary equipment.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
Troubleshoot, fire, and set combustion on various types of boilers.
Configure valve trim, regulator size, spring, oil gun length, and other necessary components.
Fire and adjust combustion on boilers with pneumatic and electrical controls.
Retrofit control systems in the field.
Diagnose and resolve issues with boilers and auxiliary equipment, including condensate tanks and deaerators.
Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory.
Adhere to company policies and ensure work is performed efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Collaborate with team members and support management on internal and external projects.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two years experience in electrical and control systems.
Boiler experience preferred.
Strong understanding of boiler controls (Autoflame, Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens).
Proficiency in PLC systems, transformers, transmitters, and electrical controls.
Ability to read and work from schematics.
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Capability to diagnose and resolve system issues, even without a schematic.
Valid Driver’s License and TWIC Card required.
Physical Demands
Perform stooping, climbing, bending, crawling, and prolonged standing.
Lift 50 pounds and work in confined or elevated areas.
Working Conditions & Hazards
Work performed in industrial environments where safety procedures must be followed.
May occasionally encounter unpleasant working conditions, but hazards are minimal.
