with a primary focus on

Transmission and Distribution

projects to support our growing Energy Business Line. The role offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices across the United States. Responsibilities Under minimal direction, complete engineering assignments of moderate to advanced complexity Prepare overhead line design using PLS-CADD Transmission and distribution line structural design (steel and wood) using PLS-Tower and/or PLS-Pole Transmission line foundation design using MFAD and L-Pile Substation support structures and foundation design Underground high voltage transmission line and/or low & medium voltage distribution lines Seismic design for substation assets Understand civil/structural engineering and basic understanding of other disciplines Provide technical guidance to a modest-sized group of engineers, designers, and specialists Develop and execute civil/structural project scope Work with codes, permits and software applications related to civil/structural engineering for substation and transmission & distribution projects Review calculations, specifications, and the work sequence; oversee the approval, revision, and storage of calculations Oversee review of construction and vendor drawings; review interdisciplinary vendor documents Assist with task and effort estimates for proposal support Plan and schedule engineering tasks within the civil/structural discipline Maintain positive working relationships with peers Occasional travel to other AECOM locations and client sites Participate in field walks, create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. About Energy and Sectors AECOM’s Energy practice provides services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, procurement and construction for power, energy efficiency, oil and gas, nuclear, and renewable energy clients. We deliver holistic solutions that connect generation, distribution, storage, and demand-side management. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Experience in structural design for electrical substation and/or transmission and distribution Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam certificate Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of experience Professional Engineering license in Civil or Structural Engineering Experience modeling, analyzing and designing steel structures and foundations for industrial projects Experience with various voltage levels (4kV–500kV) Proficiency in PLS-CADD packages (PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole) Experience with structural analysis/design software (Staad.PRO, SAP2000, MFAD, L-Pile) Knowledge of industry codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, AISC, IBC, etc.) Experience working with remote teams; experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects Owner’s Engineering experience; retrofit or brown-field experience; experience with California Electric Utilities Experience with civil drainage and sitework design; AutoCAD 3D Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available Compensation: USD 80,000 – USD 120,000 per year. Offered rate of compensation will be based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
