JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the fit-up and welding of components with stainless steel content

Operate gas torch, plasma torch, grinders, jib hoist, and overhead crane

Maintain a clean, safe workplace

Participate in a job rotation program specified by management in order to maintain skill levels with respect to welding technique and product knowledge.

Confined Space Certification is required, and training will be offered by the company.

Must submit for medical surveillance according to Vactor’s Hexavalent Chromium Program.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum of 2 years of welding or industrial experience with strong mechanical aptitude (preferred).

Able to operate all machines and tools in the department

Able to read blueprints, tape measures, diagrams, work orders, and work instructions.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to climb ladders.

Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing all job tasks.

Able to pass a weld test(s).

Able to weld mild steel as well as stainless steel using the GMAW (MIG) process.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Must have good knowledge of weld symbols, processes, and procedures.

Must be able to use jigs and fixtures to produce weldments.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school grad or equivalent
