Save Job

About Aerospacelab Our mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design & manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services.

Since its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development & data science.

In 2025, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 300 full‑time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites.

Duties

Design and implement DSP architecture for satellite telecommunication constellations

Design and implement DSP algorithms for modulation, demodulation, filtering, synchronization, channel estimation, and error correction.

Develop SDR-based communication systems using development platforms (USRP, Etthus, ...)

Design modulation, coding, and multiplexing techniques for reliable satellite links.

Support all aspects of the development chain: requirements, architecture, design, manufacturing, integration, test, operations

Work with strong interactions with various teams (mainly FPGA, SW, network).

Support design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance

Must have

MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in DSP or telecommunication systems

Knowledge of software‑defined radios (SDR) and digital signal processing (DSP)

Strong experience with scripting language (e.g. Python)

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across teams and company to drive multi‑disciplinary projects to completion

Good communication skills

Nice to have

A passion for technology and rapid execution of sophisticated space missions · Knowledge of satellite telecommunications standards (e.g. 5G, DVB, ...)

Experience with designing FIR filters

Experience with FPGA coding

Experience adapting signal processing algorithms for HW implementation (parallelizing, optimizing HW resources, etc.)

System level view of satellite communication (signaling, ranging, frequency allocation/hopping, time slicing, etc.)

Knowledge of RF subsystems (transponders, antennas, amplifiers, frequency converters, SSPA,…)

Experience in space industry

Willing to work out of your comfort zone

Experience on hardware testing and validation using advanced RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators). This includes troubleshooting signal integrity and synchronization issues across the RF and baseband domains.
