Overview

Provides timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation. Document work with appropriate repair orders and parts ordering using FedEx computer systems. Ensures work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards. Guides and supports a staff of technicians and trainees. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. Document all work with repair orders and parts orders using FedEx computer systems. Ensure tasks comply with OSHA and DOT standards. Provide guidance and support to technicians and trainees. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum Education High school diploma/GED. Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related vocational school preferred. ASE Master certification preferred. Minimum Experience Four (4) years of fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle advanced technical repair and maintenance experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the use and operation of equipment and testing equipment, gauges and tools normally associated with troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and/or hybrid motorized equipment. Proficient in operating a personal computer. Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance. Job Conditions

Possession of a basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes. Able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier weights with assistance. Able to work without supervision for extended periods. Able to work in a noisy, non-air-conditioned/non-heated work area. Able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Willing to work any shift. Must possess a valid driver\'s license in the state of residence. Must meet qualifications outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Medical exam required. Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
