Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role is to perform heavy‑duty mechanical truck repair and maintenance offsite at customer locations, develop relationships to achieve labor sales quota, and increase sales in a designated territory.
Performs routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy‑duty truck equipment and related components with general supervision.
Coordinates customer repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment, and with Service Advisor for proper work scheduling.
Advise customers of needed service work, suggest additional labor, parts and body shop sales when possible.
Follows safe work practices, uses safety equipment, and seeks assistance when needed. Ensures proper maintenance of company vehicles and reports damage immediately.
Maintains favorable customer relations and creates/ closes repair orders in the MHC business system.
Controls business expenses and maintains tooling and parts inventory on the service truck.
Oversees operations of assigned customers in territory, calls key accounts regularly, promotes preventive maintenance, new products, and promotions.
Responsible for achieving labor sales objectives and quotas for assigned accounts.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum three years of heavy‑duty truck repair experience.
A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required; Engine and Component certifications are a plus.
Self‑motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
Commitment to customer satisfaction and quality repairs.
Excellent communication skills and a positive can‑do attitude.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending on the mobile service vehicle.
Safety‑Sensitive This position is safety‑sensitive. Performing tasks under the influence of marijuana or other illegal drugs may pose a threat to health or safety.
