Overview

Field Service Technician – Columbus, OH. IEM is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of custom power distribution systems in North America. The role involves hands-on field service at customer sites, with a focus on installation and basic commissioning of IEM equipment, primarily in data center or industrial applications. Training on our equipment and commissioning process is provided in Jacksonville, FL for approximately 4 weeks. Responsibilities

Attending project meetings as required, including coordination with contractors and clients. Installation and modification of electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies which may include: Panelboard interiors, Circuit breakers, Bus bar, Switchgear section doors and subpanels, addition of control components, Power cabling and control wiring. Perform basic testing of modified assemblies (visual, ductor, etc.). Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products. Troubleshooting of electrical circuits and networking equipment. Coordinating with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to resolve product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field, and identifying additional field resources needed for installation and replacement parts. Performing preventive maintenance, field installations and modifications to existing equipment. Provide technical product support. Education And Experience

A technical degree or equivalent and 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, data center, or field service role with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3 candidates). Must be a team player with strong communication skills. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to travel (75%). Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when needed. Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems (required for Level 3). Military experience (Plus). Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3). Compensation

The hourly range for this role is $36.30 - $52.80 per hour, based on location, experience, and qualifications. Why Join IEM
