Could This Be For You? The Sr. Fabrication Specialist fabricates the orthoses and prostheses to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The Sr. Fabrication Specialist is expected to keep abreast of all new fabricating techniques and must be familiar with the properties of pertinent materials and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment.
Your Impact
Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
Perform ordering, receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
Maintain 5S to ensure a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
Train new employees.
Minimum Qualifications Experience and Education:
High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of related experience, or
Without a high school diploma/GED, 6 years of experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc., or
A technical degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited school and 7 years of related experience.
Additional Success Factors
Substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to specifications.
Ability to independently complete all General Orthotic or Prosthetic devices from start to finish from provided instructions with more than two different types of componentry (expert in either Orthotics or Prosthetic Devices).
As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in a resourceful and effective way.
Determines methods and procedures for new assignments; may be an informal team leader.
Facilitates continuous improvement by suggesting new tools, safety measures, and improving orders to sustain 5S.
Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative, understanding implications and making recommendations for solutions.
Problem solves by identifying problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions quickly.
Mechanical ability and hand‑eye coordination to safely and effectively use laboratory tools.
Effective organizational, time‑management and planning skills.
Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Triage work instructions and orders to communicate with clinicians for corrections while maintaining focus on the patient.

Works independently to develop methods and procedures for new assignments and communicates them to the Sr. Supervisor.
Supports scheduling activities and quality engineering with NCRs, CAPAs and QC returns.

Pay range of $34.78 - $52.14 per hour + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
