What to Expect
We seek a highly motivated hands-on engineering technician for a position in the Low Voltage Repair Technician group, a team focused on resolving vehicle harness electrical issues and troubleshooting manufacturing test equipment. Your responsibilities encompass diagnosing and repairing vehicle harnesses in a production environment and supporting production test equipment sustaining. We expect candidates for this role to possess a wealth of experience enabling them to work independently.
What You'll Do
In-line Harness Repair: Be vehicle productions 'First Responder' to diagnose and repair vehicle connector and wiring issues while vehicle moves through production
End Of Line Support: Assist with troubleshooting vehicle harness issues and provide innovative repairs
Harness Verification: Inspect harnesses and connectors to ensure they meet applicable code and safety standards
Equipment Sustaining: Perform basic failure diagnosis, repairs, and periodic maintenance for manufacturing test equipment
Documentation: Be able to log all issues and associated repairs into Tesla tracking application
Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems and deliver high quality results
Troubleshooting: Perform documented reworks, upgrades, general maintenance, and conduct troubleshooting on manufacturing test equipment
Support: Address occasional simple walk-up task requests from engineering teams promptly and effectively
Time Management: Independently manage your time to successfully complete parallel assignments, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting project deadlines
What You'll Bring
Hands-On Experience: Possesses a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience working with industrial equipment, machine tools, and both hand and power tools
Tool Proficiency: Exhibit proficiency working with general and electrician tools, including soldering skills, and the use of a multimeter
Manufacturing Environment: Have exposure to a manufacturing environment
Fixture Assembly: Prior experience with automated test fixture assembly is highly preferred
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft suite, SolidWorks and Altium is a plus
