Direct and guide tooling technicians and robot programmers in operations. Directly manage one or multiple process technician reports. Work with a team of engineers and supervisors to achieve department goals. Identify areas of unnecessary cost and drive cost savings for the department. Develop and implement new manual and automated welding processes with the ability to recommend and specify equipment details. Develop and update process documentation and procedure instruction. Conduct direct labor studies using acceptable engineering practices and establish labor standards for operations, set‑up, and workstation layout. Define tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process, while also assisting with ideas for specialized processes. Coordinate with tool vendor to specify or procure new tooling and fixtures for necessary changes. Run off new tooling at vendor sites. Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods and standards. Provide solutions to problems that adversely affect cost, operator safety, productivity, and quality. Research methods and procedures for cost reductions, work cell development, and material flow improvement. Qualify and develop new welding specifications. Work closely with other engineering groups such as Design, Assembly, Tube fab, and Paint. Work directly with the New Product Introduction team on model year changes and new products. Recognize current production problems and address them in new design development. Assist in development and troubleshooting of manufacturing welding equipment. Assist in preparation of departmental budget including material, manpower, equipment, and outside procurement costs, operating within approved parameters. Review preliminary designs, making recommendations to reduce costs and improve manufacturability and quality for new or existing parts. Develop detailed and accurate capital equipment studies and make appropriate recommendations. Operate within an approved budget. Review and evaluate manufacturing costs pertaining to make‑vs‑buy decisions. Drive lean culture. Perform other assignments as requested. Job Reference ID

459113BR Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree Additional Qualifications and Responsibilities

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Welding Technology with emphasis in welding (recommended). 1–3+ years of previous manufacturing engineer experience required; high‑pace automotive manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with weld tool maintenance and design preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel. Robotic weld programming experience a plus. Lean manufacturing knowledge strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret weld and mechanical prints. Works independently with moderate supervisory direction. Excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanical skills. Strong project management skills. Desire to work in a strong team dynamic. Motivated to work on, ride, and improve industry‑leading powersports products. Working Conditions
