Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Nisga'a CIOPS provides experienced services to civilian and DoD programs worldwide, delivering highly skilled, cleared personnel across five continents.
Summary
The Lackland Field Engineering Representative (FER) is an on‑site role responsible for planning, engineering, and supporting Enterprise IT & Cyber Infrastructure systems embedded with 16th Air Force, 690th Cyber Operations Group, Air Force Mission Assurance Center, and other units. The FER implements and sustains solutions, ensures system performance, and applies industry‑standard concepts and procedures. The role includes coordinating with units, serving as liaison for AFLCMC/HNI, leading personnel, and supporting Cyber Security and Control Systems.
Responsibilities
Core Tasks
Integrate with mission partners to coordinate HNI and OPS programs.
Coordinate work tasks with AFLCMC/HNI PMs, 16AF staff, and the Government Sustainment PM.
Participate in meetings to maintain situational awareness and relay information to units.
Liaison between operations community and PMO at conferences and meetings.
Act as technical field representative for Sustainment, facilitate communication with OPS and AFLCMC/HNI.
Participate in commander conferences, staff meetings, IPT calls, and other unit meetings.
Participate in local user meetings (Daily Ops brief, CCB, ERB, DRB, Ticket Review, AFIN Response Center, CAB).
Keep MAJCOM, NOS, and base personnel informed on HNI program status.
Provide the Government Sustainment PM with status updates, concerns, and potential resolutions.
Support the ARC with OPS incident updates and escalations.
Promote awareness of Sustainment services and benefits to OPS community.
Provide monthly FER Field Report in the Integrated Digital Environment.
Assist in planning, engineering support, and troubleshooting for all AFLCMC/HNI projects.
Provide on/offsite engineering efforts (equipment, configuration, troubleshooting).
Assist in TO & TCTO validations prior to release.
Create change requests within Enterprise IT Service Management.
Travel up to 20% to support the PMO/OPS mission.
Coordinate data calls and site surveys.
Technical & Infrastructure Management
Plan, design, and implement network and systems infrastructure solutions.
Monitor system performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure stability and efficiency of systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with minimal disruption to OPS.
Risk & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and industry security standards.
Maintain operational readiness per procedures and policies.
Assist in risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
Excellent leader with experience managing staff of diverse disciplines.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Technical knowledge of network and system infrastructure.
Independent and collaborative work in mission‑critical environments.
Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and technical personnel.
Familiarity with DoD & Air Force procedures and AFIN.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience (or 6 years total experience).
Experience supporting DoD Information Network, AFIN, or equivalent.
Information Assurance Technician Level II Certification.
ITIL Foundation (v3 or higher).
Valid NATO SECRET clearance, TOP SECRET/SSBI security clearance, and SCI eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Project+ Certification.
CompTIA Cloud+ or higher.
