Construction Electrical Engineer – San Antonio, Texas Veteran‑Owned Firm
– We are a veteran‑owned management consulting firm that specializes in technical and cleared recruiting for the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other advanced defense agencies. Our client is seeking a Construction Electrical Engineer to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas.
Executive Summary The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of energy‑efficient power and lighting distribution systems. The role oversees projects from inception to completion, manages a multidisciplinary team, and collaborates with stakeholders to deliver transformative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Engineer of Record for the electrical discipline.
Provide overall design direction from inception to completion on a project‑specific basis.
Design branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities.
Design overall power distribution system and perform calculations to support system designs.
Perform construction administration tasks, review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend CA meetings.
Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and perform field observations.
Manage assigned projects, coordinate design team, and schedule detailed phases of assigned project work.
Lead design and construction meetings.
Mentor junior team members and assign tasks to design staff.
Prepare and monitor contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations.
Collaborate with business development to build relationships and foster repeat business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Current Professional Engineering License in Texas.
5+ years of experience as a licensed professional engineer.
10+ years of experience in electrical design in municipal, aviation, education, healthcare, and commercial office sectors.
7+ years of experience managing MEP design projects.
3+ years of project management experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience directly overseeing an MEP design team.
Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record and background check.
