Overview
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I-2nd Shift at LISI AEROSPACE NORTH AMERICA. The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of mechanical maintenance and construction activities, including repair and maintenance of manufacturing machines. Responsibilities
Performs work based on issued Work Orders; work may include scheduled preventive maintenance, unscheduled or unforeseen work (machine breakdowns). Seeks Supervisor or Lead guidance as necessary to ensure safety at all times. Examines equipment and machinery, troubleshoots as necessary and makes recommendations to Supervisor or Lead concerning corrective repairs. Takes a proactive role in identifying malfunctions or repairs to ensure optimal safety and efficiency. Always performs work with safety in mind; wears appropriate PPE and follows all safety rules, including lock out/tag out, powered industrial vehicles, confined spaces, and electrical equipment. Performs arc welding, gas welding, cutting and brazing. Uses a variety of tools such as voltage testers, ammeters, megger, hand tools, and power tools in a safe and proficient manner. Assists in all areas of new construction and remodeling of the facility. Operates powered industrial vehicles to move parts and machines. Reports safety violations, machining equipment misusage, and improperly performed work to supervisor or lead. Follows 5S procedures (housekeeping, tool organization, and floor cleanliness) as part of daily responsibilities. Complies with Federal, Local, and State regulations, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE procedures; attends training and adheres to all HSE requirements. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by setting objectives, measuring progress, and reporting results. May assist with waste elimination initiatives related to the function and department. Supports other general maintenance activities as assigned. Ways Of Working, Experience, And Behaviors

High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment; basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills. Certification and/or formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance highly desired. Experience and training in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. Skills And Abilities
Computer Skills – Basic knowledge of mainframe computer systems; familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software. Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints. Mathematical Skills – Basic shop math; ability to perform operations using units, weight, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability – Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems in standardized situations. Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions with reasonable accommodations available.
