Overview

This position supports the Signal Collection & Exploitation Branch at NAWCWD, China Lake. The candidate will provide daily support to the Signal Collection and Exploitation Branch. The candidate will become responsible for the safe operation of the Non-POR Group I, II, or III UAS. The candidate must become qualified to operate all Non-POR groups and may operate all FW and MR as well, utilizing electric and/or gas piston propulsion systems. Candidate may build, tune and/or troubleshoot all Non-PRO groups. Candidate will be required to remain current on all required AVO personnel qualifications. Candidate must acquire and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory environment concerning the safe operation of Group I, II and III UAS. Candidate must be able to work with engineers during design and development of new SUAS systems. Candidate must have solid verbal and written skills and must be able to work both independently as well as within a team environment. Familiarity with WiFi networks is desired as most UAS operations are conducted or started on WiFi networks. Experience towing large heavy trailers is also desired due to support equipment requirements for UAS operations in the field. Responsibilities

Operate and support UAS operations for Non-POR Groups I, II, or III, and may operate FW and MR as applicable. Build, tune, and troubleshoot Non-PRO groups as required. Maintain qualification to operate all Non-POR groups and stay current on required AVO personnel qualifications. Work with engineers during design and development of new SUAS systems. Ensure safe operation within regulatory and safety requirements for Group I, II, and III UAS. Qualifications

Education: AA degree preferred; Penn Foster certificate adds value. Experience: 1-3 years related experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required. Familiarity with WiFi networks is desired. Experience with towing large heavy trailers is desired. Compensation and Benefits
