The
Plumber
reports to the Skilled Crafts Trades Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance department. Responsibilities include journey‑level plumbing work involving the installation, inspection, modification, remodeling, and repair of commercial and residential plumbing equipment for gas, water, steam, sewage, and storm related systems. This role also executes preventative maintenance, documents inspections and testing, reviews shop logs, creates blueprints/drawings and specifications for new construction and retrofit projects, and responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve safety concerns. All duties are performed in accordance with University and departmental safety guidelines and with a positive, communicative attitude toward colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty, and students.
Salary range:
$42.17 – $47.48 per hour.
Key qualifications
Current work authorization in the U.S. at the time of hire.
Education, licensure, or certification relevant to plumbing and related trades; extensive experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of building code requirements and plumbing system design.
Effective communication and teamwork skills with ability to work safely and efficiently.
