Mechanical Designer/Drafter

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer/Drafter responsible for creating detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and components. This role involves designing both current examples and supporting future initiatives, requiring a high level of detail in plan and elevation views. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can work independently to standardize workspaces and designs across a vast network of fulfillment operations. Responsibilities

Create new CAD blocks of equipment and conveyor layouts for new installations. Brainstorm and design connections between new and existing equipment, such as connecting conveyor systems. Develop new concepts for future designs to enhance material handling systems. Collaborate with engineers to draft and design plans for a large sort center, including current and future projects. Operate CAD software to manage layers and elevation plans effectively. Essential Skills

Minimum 3 years of experience operating CAD software with proficiency in managing layers and elevation plans. 3+ years of experience in 3D software, with Configura as the primary design tool. Experience with SolidWorks and Inventor is also acceptable. Associate's Degree in Drafting and Design. At least 1 year of experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment. Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with AutoCAD 2D and 3D software is preferred. Experience designing material handling systems and layouts, including plan and elevation views. Familiarity with BIM 360, Smartsheets, and Revit. Ability to design assembly lines and large equipment layouts. Experience with conveyor system design and layout is preferred. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment. Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with three days in the office, located in Bellevue, WA. The work environment is open‑ended and requires a task‑driven individual who can work independently without needing constant direction. The role offers the potential to transition into a full‑time position within the next 9‑12 months, providing an excellent opportunity for career growth. Job Type & Location

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $39.50/hr.
