Amgen , our Blended Rover/SOC Operators serve as both on‑site security professionals and operational support specialists—helping ensure a safe and secure environment through active patrol, monitoring, and coordination. This unique position combines the dynamic, field‑based responsibilities of a Rover with the centralized, technology‑driven duties of a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator.
Position Summary As a Blended Rover/SOC Operator, you will split your shift between
on‑site patrols
and
SOC operations . You’ll be responsible for monitoring security systems, responding to alarms, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring the safety of personnel and property. Your professionalism, vigilance, and communication skills will be critical in maintaining the security posture of the site.
Key Responsibilities SOC Operator Duties (Half of Shift)
Surveillance & Monitoring:
Operate CCTV, alarm monitoring platforms, and life safety systems to detect and respond to security threats.
Access Control:
Monitor and manage access to restricted areas using electronic systems.
Incident Management:
Dispatch personnel and coordinate responses to alarms, emergencies, or incidents using radios and communication software.
Communication:
Maintain clear, professional communication with field officers, emergency responders, and client representatives.
Reporting:
Accurately document incidents, alarms, and communications in detailed logs and reports.
Rover Duties (Half of Shift)
Patrols:
Conduct interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, vandalism, or unsafe behavior.
Safety Checks:
Inspect doors, gates, and equipment to ensure proper function and security.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and requests for assistance.
Customer Service:
Provide courteous, professional interaction with client staff and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence.
Support:
Assist with escorting personnel or deliveries, and report maintenance or safety hazards.
Qualifications
Excellent observational, multitasking, and de‑escalation skills.
Strong communication abilities and teamwork orientation.
Proven ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Ethical, dependable, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements
Must be
at least 18 years of age .
High school diploma or GED
required.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Reliable transportation and communication
required.
Ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
3+ years of security experience
(combination of patrol and operations center experience preferred).
3+ years of customer service experience.
Must be able to work extended (double) shifts and alternate between indoor and outdoor environments.
