Scalian is seeking a Supply Chain Manager with a solid foundation in supply chain operations, supplier quality management, and supplier performance recovery. In this role, you will own the end-to-end supplier relationship for a defined commodity — ensuring supplier performance, quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of suppliers (commodity: detail parts) to ensure on-time, on-quality, and on-cost delivery of products and services
Serve as the key contact for supplier performance, coordinating internal teams (procurement, engineering, quality, operations) to resolve issues and drive alignment
Lead business reviews with suppliers to monitor and improve performance, focusing on key metrics (OTD, NCRs, PPM, and recovery progress)
Drive supplier approval and control processes, including supplier onboarding, QMS/EMS evaluations, and compliance checks
Supplier Quality & Compliance
Oversee supplier quality performance in partnership with internal quality teams
Manage supplier processes including: Supplier Control Reviews, NADCAP Special Processes, Quality System Reviews (QSR), SARI and EVENT management, Supplier Non-Conformance (NC) management and concessions and Supplier Industrial Change assessments
Ensure supplier adherence to applicable standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, APQP, PPAP, etc.) and customer-specific requirements
Supplier Recovery & Development
Lead supplier recovery plans for underperforming suppliers, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively
Conduct root cause analyses and structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Why) to prevent recurrence of issues
Monitor and track supplier recovery activities, ensuring transparent communication and escalation as required
Support supplier capability development and continuous improvement initiatives
Support Transfer of Work (TOW) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring supply readiness and compliance
Participate in modification projects, APQP/KBD assessments, and FAI/LAI support (as applicable)
Ensure suppliers are industrially ready for production ramp-up, meeting all technical and quality requirements
Performance, Process, and Risk Management
Support performance management and improvement projects to optimize supply chain processes
Participate in initiatives such as: Supplier mapping and risk management, Supply chain digitalization and compliance monitoring and Continuous improvement and process optimization projects
Contribute to supplier performance reviews, KPIs, and reporting dashboards to identify trends and improvement opportunities
What skills and qualifications are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, or a related field
5--8 years of experience in supply management, supplier development, or supplier quality management in a supervisor or manager role
Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, performance, and recovery activities
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement tools (8D, FMEA, APQP, PPAP)
Experience with ERP or supply chain systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel/data analysis capabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners
Strong analytical mindset and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
Ability to balance multiple priorities, manage time effectively, and deliver measurable supply chain results
