Position Overview The Project Coordinator—Operations & Handshake is responsible for overseeing operational functions and managing the Handshake platform to support student career readiness, employer engagement, and data‑driven decision‑making. This role ensures the effective execution of career‑related programs, events, and support with a strong emphasis on technology integration and project coordination.

This position reports directly to the Office of Career Education (OCE) Director. The Project Coordinator plans, develops, and coordinates the office’s daily operations, provides program support, and improves processes and procedures related to strategic planning for the Office of Career Education. It frequently deals with varied and complex problems, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation, and decisions have significant, broad implications for management and operations of the department.

Salary & Work Location Salary Range: $38,722 – $50,339 annually. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity. Full‑time position. Work location: Marshall University.

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities are implied in the Position Overview; however key duties include:

Managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Office of Career Education.

Coordinating the use and maintenance of the Handshake career services platform.

Planning and executing career events and programs.

Analyzing data to support decision‑making and reporting.

Improving processes and procedures across the office.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, humanities, or data/research related field.

Minimum of one year of experience in project coordination roles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database systems, and AI.

Experience with career education platforms (e.g., Handshake) or similar CSM tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business, humanities, or data/research related field.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience in higher education or career education.

Experience with Handshake Academy training modules and reporting tools.
