Civil/Site Engineer - Land Development & Infrastructure Design
A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil/Site Engineer to join its team, focusing on land development and infrastructure design. Primary Responsibilities
Apply civil engineering principles to the design and development of residential, commercial, and municipal sites.
Prepare site grading plans, drainage systems, utility layouts, and stormwater management solutions.
Conduct permitting processes in accordance with local and state regulations.
Interpret engineering drawings, land surveys, and site maps to inform design decisions.
Utilize AutoCAD 2D and Civil 3D for drafting and design tasks.
Perform stormwater modelling and analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., ICPR, MODRET, HEC‑RAS, SWMM).
Generate technical reports to support design calculations and regulatory submissions.
Represent projects in public meetings and forums, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Support construction phases by reviewing test results, preparing cost estimates, and evaluating as‑built conditions.
Assist with the preparation of certification documents and final plan sets.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/site design.
Strong understanding of land development practices, stormwater systems, and permitting requirements.
Familiarity with regional and state design standards and building codes.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
Experience with stormwater modelling and analysis tools.
Knowledge of infrastructure systems including utilities and site development components.
