Power Distribution Specialist
to be part of our Central Utilities Maintenance team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama. Objective : Provide technical knowledge to assist maintenance and production personnel in the implementation of equipment/system improvements. Develop and execute equipment maintenance programs. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering; emphasis in power systems preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering in an industrial environment, working with both low voltage and medium voltage electrical power distribution applications up to 34.5 kV Working knowledge of SVC operations and maintenance Knowledge of regulations mandated by NETA, NESC, NEC, NFPA-70E, IEEE, ANSI, and other applicable standards and guidelines Power distribution system: SCADA, network architecture (fiber, switches, media converters), power quality, power management, substation protection systems (59, 27, 50, 51, 32 elements), and battery systems Switchgear and transformers; HVAC electrical systems (desired automation systems) Electrical engineering software: SKM or similar for power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis) Excellent communication skills with professionals, operations personnel, and construction trades Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment General Microsoft Office and computer skills Interest and ability to work at the Calvert, Alabama site Competencies and skills

Ensure departmental assets achieve optimal operability and maintenance of Power Distribution and HVAC systems Provide technical support and consultancy to management in power system-related decisions Quality review of electrical equipment installation, including transformers and accessories, protection systems, power meters, lighting, from low voltage up to 34.5 kV, as well as HVAC system controls Coordinate engineering activities to support maintenance in system/equipment modifications, including technical analysis, proposals, evaluations, cost estimates, diligence, factory testing and commissioning Provide technical support for the project management group from feasibility through final acceptance tests, ensuring technical quality and proper documentation after changes Establish minimum technical requirements to purchase or modify equipment/systems, maintaining standards based on national, international and corporate guidelines Develop reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Promote safety culture, review accident/incident reports and assist in investigations as required Lead, support, participate in, and develop improvement programs and project groups Support management in optimizing quality, cost, availability, and performance of equipment Coordinate and direct personnel as required Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability Foster a safe and healthy work environment and fulfill the Quality Commitment Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering trust and respect Physical requirements
Ability to utilize PPE safely per OSHA standards Ability to climb, walk long distances, and maneuver on uneven terrain Ability to withstand elevated temperatures and work in extreme heat Exposure to wet/humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt Work in high noise environments with hearing protection required Ability to handle objects/materials and operate in areas with strong magnetic fields Physical ability to bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required Frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects Communicate via radios, phones, and/or intercom systems Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with proper technique and safely use power and hand tools Operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment including overhead cranes Salary and benefits
