Quality Inspector 2 (FAA Safety Sensitive)

Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets. Position Summary
With minimum supervision, performs required measurements and data collection of all purchased and final Materials requiring inspection. Communicates nonconforming results to OECO Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance. Assists with First Article inspections, assists with Customer Source Inspection, and when applicable, will be certified as Designated Quality Representative for applicable customers. Responsibilities
Confirms information on accompanying paperwork Set up and perform complex measurements to verify that materials meet all parameters. Inspect parts for conformance with detail drawings, assembly drawings, military standards, and general standards of workmanship. Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, machined, coated, and plated surfaces, and other parts for nicks, scratches, or other general damage. Interpret drawings, specifications, and purchasing requirements. Segregate and report non-conforming material using a Quality Notification (QN) process. Provide OECO Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance with measurement results and data to aid in disposition of discrepant material. Maintain accurate files, records, and logs. Supports and participates in internal and customer audits. Train other inspectors as directed. Qualifications
Hand measuring tools - micrometers, calipers, gauges, rulers, optical comparator, surface plate with related accessories. Test equipment - curve tracer, video bridge, and multimeters. Office equipment - calculator, copy machine, computer terminals, printers, scanners, fax machines. Must have knowledge of assembly drawings, parts lists, revisions, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, work instructions, and wiring diagrams. General Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and CMM experience a plus. Must be able to communicate verbally in person and in writing to individuals and/or groups. Must have the ability to communicate with a variety of personality types and levels of the organization. Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds several times per day. Education : Requires a High School diploma or GED. A Certified Quality Technician (CRT) certificate or other certificates from a recognized organization is a plus. Strong math skills required. Experience : A minimum three to five (3-5) years of inspection experience or other quality-related fields is required. What We Offer
