Richmond, VA Direct Hire | Full-Time $115,000 – $126,000 annually

We are seeking an experienced Operations Maintenance & Facilities Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for overseeing equipment effectiveness, evaluating production and packaging line improvements, managing maintenance operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee overall equipment effectiveness, reliability, and troubleshooting protocols

Evaluate production/packaging line improvements and new equipment requirements

Prioritize work, schedule and assign personnel, coordinate with departments for equipment servicing, and manage shutdowns and permits

Provide input on equipment qualification/validation and component specifications to ensure efficient operations

Review, develop, and optimize master maintenance schedules for production and packaging equipment

Champion Continuous Improvement and Lean/Six Sigma principles

Manage small projects including machine modifications, tooling purchases, and equipment upgrades

Hire, develop, and coach maintenance staff; establish objectives, training, and succession plans

Maintain safety and compliance records, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards

Assist in planning the annual budget and minimize unnecessary costs

Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure parts inventory management

Education & Experience

Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance supervisory experience

Formal education in an engineering or technical discipline preferred (BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)

Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment and industrial machine controls

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings

Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including automation

Experience managing maintenance systems and parts inventory

Strong troubleshooting skills related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Experience in formal packaging for consumer goods

Advanced computer skills
