Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Logistics Manager
to join our Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing key functions that support the seamless flow of products and information from origin to destination. This role is critical in optimizing logistics operations while ensuring alignment with customer service policies and cost-efficiency goals.
Key Functions
Client Relationship Management : Serve as the primary logistics liaison for Disney clients, ensuring service level commitments are met or exceeded.
Supplier & Partner Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transportation providers, and other supply chain partners.
Logistics Systems Oversight : Manage and optimize logistics systems to support operational efficiency and data accuracy.
Contracting & Compliance : Oversee logistics contracting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Transportation & Daily Flow Operations : Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Freight Audit & Payment : Manage freight audit processes and ensure accurate and timely payment.
Strategic Projects : Lead logistics initiatives that drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced service delivery.
Responsibilities Daily Operations Management
Oversee daily logistics operations including shipment planning, tendering, consolidation, delivery confirmation, and resolution of freight audit/payment exceptions.
Ensure efficient product flow through proactive exception management to meet demand and service level expectations.
Forecast upcoming shipment volumes and coordinate carrier capacity planning and commitments.
Provide hands‑on support to the operations team for shipment execution and issue resolution.
Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues related to shipment creation and invoice discrepancies.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training materials, and performance guidelines for logistics team members.
Network Optimization
Drive continuous improvement in logistics network design, including lane optimization, hub utilization, and flow process enhancements.
Support freight term conversions from supplier‑managed to Disney‑managed freight to improve cost control and visibility.
Logistics Management System (Oracle)
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates impacting logistics operations.
Manage shipment lifecycle using Oracle systems—from supplier cancel dates to delivery compliance and distribution center appointments—ensuring process consistency and visibility.
Validate system data integrity and perform root cause analysis on data anomalies.
Collaborate with system support teams to identify and resolve sources of erroneous data.
RFP & Contract Support
Assist leadership in supply chain partner contract negotiations by providing operational insights and data.
Contribute to RFP strategy development and recommend revisions based on evolving operational challenges.
Ensure final contract terms align with operational requirements and service level expectations.
Supply Chain Partner Performance
Recommend enhancements to performance dashboards and metric standards based on RFP outcomes.
Analyze quarterly performance data and coordinate necessary adjustments with supply chain partners.
Disney Internal Client Relationship Management
Analyze quarterly performance data and coordinate necessary adjustments with Disney internal stakeholders.
Provide inbound logistics reporting to internal stakeholders including merchants, planning teams, and distribution centers.
Develop logistics models for internal clients, including landed cost estimates, cycle time analysis, and alternative transit cost comparisons.
Budgeting & Strategic Planning
Identify and analyze spend variances and develop strategies to address cost drivers.
Manage the financial impact of contract negotiations and support logistics budget reporting and five‑year planning initiatives.
Logistics Projects
Lead cross‑functional logistics projects aimed at improving service levels, reducing costs, optimizing labor, and enhancing system utilization.
Process Improvement
Evaluate current logistics processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Conduct process mapping, user needs assessments, and system capability evaluations.
Develop and execute project plans with defined timelines and deliverables.
Create ad‑hoc SQL reports to support data‑driven decision‑making.
Basic Qualifications 2 years in a supply chain role or equivalent experience SQL, Oracle TMS
Required Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering
Preferred Education Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering
